Posted on November/19/2017 | Categories: Videos 20 Comments

ROM Collection Thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/rooting-roms/zte-nubia-z7-mini-nx507j-rom-collection-t2916106

I used a MIUI V5 ROM, however you may use whichever ROM you would like, including Cyanogenmod.

Please note that the MIUI V5 ROM has not been added to the XDA-Developers thread (yet).

Download E.S. File Explorer: http://bit.ly/esfexplorer
Download ZTE Nubia Z7 Mini Files (needed for custom ROM flash): http://bit.ly/ztez7minifiles

Please watch the whole video before proceeding. A PC is NOT required. Performing these steps will wipe the contents of your device. You are performing these tasks at your own risk.

Step 1 – Download a Custom ROM:
Download a custom ROM and copy it to the root of your phone’s internal SD card. If you downloaded it on your phone, open the File Manager app and move it from the Download folder to the root. If you downloaded it on your PC, move it using a microUSB cable.

Step 2 – Flash Custom Recovery:
Download the files from http://bit.ly/ztez7minifiles and extract the contents onto your phone. Open the folder that contains the extracted contents and install towelroot. Open towelroot and press “make it rain” to root your phone. Exit towelroot and install SuperSU. Do not open SuperSU, press “Done” and go back to the file manager. Install Rashr and open it. Choose a new recovery image from the phone storage and select cwm-recovery.img. If you ever want to go back to stock, select stock-recovery.img. Allow it to flash and then reboot into recovery.

Step 3 – Data Wipes:
Perform a data wipe/factory rest. Afterwards, clear dalvik cache.

Step 4 – Flash Custom ROM:
Choose the zip file from sdcard0 and flash it. This process will take several minutes. Please be patient. Once it has finished, reboot the phone. If you see a message asking whether to fix root or prevent stock re-flash, just say yes.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment below. Also, don’t forget to give the video a thumbs if it helped you!
